December Birthstone Beads

Turquoise is the traditional December stone, zircon joined the modern list in 1952 and tanzanite in 2002, so December has 3 blues to choose from, the opaque robin's egg blue of turquoise, the lavender to violet blue of tanzanite and the bright clear blue of zircon. Turquoise comes in smooth and matte rounds, rondelles, heishi and nuggets, tanzanite in small microfaceted rounds and rondelles, and both are soft enough to deserve care in a bracelet.
