Chrysocolla Beads
Chrysocolla is a vivid cyan blue-green mineral with a mohs hardness ranging from 2 to 4. Pure is very soft, but when it's found in association with quartz it is hard enough that it's suitable for chrysocolla beads, cabochons and other jewelry making. Deposits of chrysocolla have been discovered in Russia, Zaire, Chile and in the USA. During ancient times Greek goldsmiths used chrysocolla in adhesives, resulting in the stone getting its name from the words 'chrysos' for gold and 'kolla' for glue. Chrysocolla has been associated with calming, peace and wisdom. At Tejas Beads, we carry a large assortment of chrysocolla beads for jewelry making.
