These smooth round beads from Brazil are packed with very fine black tourmaline needles, so they read black to charcoal gray with clear patches. Tourmalated quartz is quartz that grew around needles of black tourmaline, trapping them inside the crystal. In metaphysical belief, tourmalated quartz is associated with grounding and balance.
