100% natural variscite beads.

These microfaceted variscite beads show soft green to blue green tones with natural matrix, and their tiny facets catch the light for a soft sparkle. Variscite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate that forms near the surface, where phosphate-rich water seeps through aluminum-rich rock, and traces of chromium and vanadium give it its green color. It is sometimes mistaken for turquoise, which is a copper mineral. At about 3.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale it is fairly soft, so store it apart from harder beads. In metaphysical belief, variscite is linked with calm and emotional balance.

Recommendations

For beads 4mm and smaller, it is recommended to start with stringing wires no larger than .013inch / .33mm. This will ensure a proper fit and in most cases allow for feeding of the wire tip back through the beads for a clean finish.

Elastic cords can be used with beads 4mm and larger, but it will not fit through most beads smaller than 4mm. It's recommended to use 0.5mm elastic cord.
