These microfaceted round beads are a soft, even medium gray with a silky sheen, and a scattering of beads on each strand flash bright blue when the light catches them. This is a quieter lot than our flashier labradorite, with the gray body color doing most of the work and the blue showing up as accents rather than on every bead, which makes it an easy neutral to pair with brighter stones. Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar whose flash, called labradorescence, comes from light scattering between thin layers inside the crystal. In metaphysical belief, labradorite is associated with intuition, transformation and protection.
