100% natural Anyolite Ruby beads.

These smooth round beads are deep magenta and raspberry pink to dark wine red, with a few beads showing green zoisite or black hornblende patches, so each strand has its own mix. Ruby is the red variety of corundum, an aluminum oxide colored by traces of chromium, and these beads are cut from the ruby-rich portions of anyolite, the ruby-in-zoisite rock from Tanzania. Corundum is a dense stone, so a strand has a satisfying weight in the hand. In metaphysical belief, ruby is associated with passion, courage and vitality, and it is the birthstone of July.

These beads are cut from the ruby-rich portions of anyolite (ruby zoisite) from Tanzania. They are natural ruby corundum in its host rock, opaque with pink to red color and occasional green zoisite or black hornblende patches, not transparent gem-grade ruby.
