These smooth rondelle beads are rust red, orange and cream with lacy white and gray patterns. Agate takes its name from the Achates River in Sicily, where it was found in ancient times, and it is a banded chalcedony that formed layer by layer as silica-rich water filled cavities in rock. In metaphysical belief, agate is associated with stability and strength.
