White Jade · Faceted · Round · 6mm, 8mm, 10mm

I wanted for quite a while to create “Luna” pendant necklaces for my daughters to honor the memory of my grandmother who grew up in Victorian England and whose maiden name was “Moon.” She was fond of the moon motif in art and jewelry. As a young child, I was fascinated by semi-precious gemstones where light interacted with the internal structure of the stone to create special visual effects and movement, which I associated with the changing appearance of the moon as Earth’s atmosphere created lunar halos and reflections in nocturnal clouds, or as shifting shadows from fall clouds drifted past the moon’s face. At Tejas beads, I found exactly what I was seeking to design a Luna necklace: two varieties of Rainbow Moonstone, Labradorite, Mother of Pearl, White Jade, faceted Hematite, and antique silver beads. I have one necklace made, one more to fashion.

These are so lovely! I wish they would get 8mm in stock.

Although the 9 and 1/2 mm and 10 mm beads are very close in size I really don't mind having extras of either of them. They're very pretty and make lovely earrings.

I love white jade, and have quite a few smooth round beads. I didn’t think that I wanted to get the faceted ones until I saw how beautiful they are, now I have to get MORE !
