Trolleite is often found in high-pressure, metamorphic environments in aluminum-rich rocks. It's frequently associated with other phosphate minerals such as berlinite, lazulite, and scorzalite.

Trolleite has a specific gravity of approx. 3.1g/cm3, which is relatively dense for a non-metallic mineral - and is about 20% heavier than quartz - stunning!
