Moonstone is a gemstone that has been used in jewelry for centuries. Its unique iridescent sheen resembles the light of the moon, hence its name. Rainbow moonstone is a white form of labradorite feldspar, which is why its flash is stronger and more colored than the glow of classic moonstone. Moonstone has a Mohs hardness rating of 6-6.5 so it's relatively hard but care should be taken against abrasions.

In metaphysical belief, moonstone is associated with success, good fortune, and wisdom. It is also traditionally associated with peace, harmony, and balance.
