Moonstone is a gemstone that has been used in jewelry for centuries. Its unique iridescent sheen resembles the light of the moon, hence its name. Classic moonstone is orthoclase feldspar with fine layers of albite inside it, and rainbow moonstone is a white form of labradorite feldspar; light scattering off the layers in each gives the glow.

In metaphysical belief, moonstone is associated with success, good fortune, and wisdom. It is also traditionally associated with peace, harmony, and balance.

Moonstone is available in a range of colors, from white to yellow to pink. Moonstone has a Mohs hardness rating of 6-6.5 so it's relatively hard but care should be taken against abrasions.
