These smooth round beads are glossy black to charcoal with pale gray and white sections of fossil shell. Orthoceras were marine animals with long, straight shells that roamed the seas hundreds of millions of years ago, and these beads are cut from stone holding their fossilized shell remains. In metaphysical belief, orthoceras fossils are associated with longevity and a connection to the past.
