These large hole beads are a matte, porous black. Lava beads are cut from basalt, a volcanic rock that cooled with gas bubbles trapped inside, which leaves the porous texture and makes them popular for essential oil jewelry. In metaphysical belief, lava stone is associated with grounding and strength.
