Moonstone is a gemstone that has been used in jewelry for centuries. Its unique iridescent sheen resembles the light of the moon, hence its name. Made of two intergrown feldspar minerals, it has a Mohs hardness rating of 6 to 6.5, so it is fairly hard, but care should be taken against abrasions.

In metaphysical belief, moonstone is associated with success, good fortune, and wisdom. It is also traditionally associated with peace, harmony, and balance.
