Agate is a translucent variety of banded microcrystalline quartz. The name agate comes the Achete River in Sicily where these semi-precious stones were found in ancient times. Agates are known to have to stabilize and strengthening influences. Blue lace agate, in particular, is a stone of communication, clarity, and confidence.
